One of Apple’s longest-serving executives is nearing the end of his career at the tech giant. According to a new report, Dan Riccio, who worked on the hardware engineering of products such as iMac, iPhone, MacBook and AirPods, is preparing to retire.

After more than 25 years as an Apple executive, Dan Riccio made important statements to some industry insiders. Informed sources reported that he is planning to retire after more than two decades of managing Apple’s hardware division.
No official retirement date has been set yet, as details are still being finalized. However, Riccio has held various hardware leadership roles during his tenure, which began in 1998 as a product design leader. First iPad, then Apple’s vice president of hardware engineering.
Apple has released many industry-leading devices in this process. Riccio has been assigned to a new team for Apple Vision Pro glasses in early 2021. The device, which was released last month with great anticipation, seems to be Riccio’s last project.
Riccio, who led the hardware of Vision Pro, handed over his seat to John Ternus in the process. Ternus has been Apple’s vice president of hardware engineering for the past two years.
After helping launch Vision Pro, Riccio seems ready to retire at Apple. With Riccio’s departure, it is unclear which names Apple will work with for this position.
